Naan Mudhalvan is a massive skilling initiative by the Government of Tamil Nadu under the department of Special Programme Implementation to empower the youth of the state to gain industry-relevant employable skills. Launched by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on 1st March 2022, the programme is designed to impart skill-based training programs that meet the current demands and trends of the industry and help the students improve their career prospects.

It is designed to enable colleges and educational institutions to deliver courses that equip students with the qualifications, skills, and expertise they need to land their desired job. This program also facilitates employers to bridge the skills gap in their company and industry by giving them the avenue to train students with the necessary skills that are in demand for them and hone these skills from the beginning.

Its ambitious structure addresses both immediate and long-term employment needs while aiming to future-proof the workforce against the rapid evolution of job roles and technological demands.

To streamline the skill development efforts in the State and create an environment in which we not only provide skill training but also employment to the youth to meet the growing market demands for skilled manpower and equip them for continuous development and learning in a changing enterprise environment in India and rest of the world.
To create constant opportunities for the youth of Tamil Nadu to be able to acquire skills of choice and to support them with the means of creating sustainable employment.

The program envisions an integrated ecosystem where skill development not only promotes employability but also fosters lifelong learning and adaptability. This is critical for maintaining relevance in a fast-paced, global job market.

To constantly strive and integrate the efforts of various departments engaged in skilling the youth of Tamil Nadu and bring necessary scale, synergy, foresight and effective coordination in the implementation of various Skill Development schemes and to promote the public-private partnership to encourage private sector initiatives like Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the field of skill development and finally support placements.
