Skills Acquisition And Knowledge Awareness For Livelihood Promotion
Skills Acquisition and Knowledge Awareness for Livelihood Promotion (SANKALP) was launched to strengthen institutional mechanisms for skill development and enhance access to quality, market-relevant training for youth across the country.
The primary objectives of the project include strengthening institutional mechanisms at both national and state levels. The project is being implemented with financial assistance from the World Bank, along with a Central and State funding share in a 60:40 ratio.
The project also focuses on training marginalized communities, including fishermen/fisher youth, artisans practicing dying arts and crafts, transgenders, tribal adolescents, and women returning to the workforce post-maternity. Additionally, digital literacy training was extended to Self-Help Groups (SHGs).
To improve the quality of training, Training of Trainers (ToT) and Training of Assessors (ToA) programs were conducted to enhance the skills of trainers and assessors involved in the initiative.
